I remember last summer when my mom had told me about her 50th high school reunion coming up that August, and I remember her telling me at the last minute that she wasn’t going to go. You see, my mom was a window, having lost my dad back in 2007. She didn’t want to go and feel like a 5th wheel. I encouraged her to go, told her she might even meet a nice man. She laughed! Well, thankfully she did go, and it was there that she met Rod. Here we are, not even a year later, and they are married!! I have not seen my mom so happy in years!
My mom didn’t think that at her age she would ever find love, not ever find someone to share the rest of her life with her. Goes to show that you can find love at any age! Look at the smile on her face!!
Brenda(yes, mom has a name LOL) and Rod had a beautiful wedding in May, surrounded by close friends and family. They had a beautiful church service in Madison Village, a small town in Northeast Ohio, and the same church I grew up in. My daughter, and my mom’s sister stood by her side. Rod’s best buddy stood by his. My son and nephew walked my grandma (mother of the bride, and their great-grandma) down the aisle, and my brother gave our mom away(that is when my tears started). I had the honor of capturing it all.
Go to the reunion, or the party, or whatever it is that you are afraid to go to alone. You never know what could happen, you may meet the love of your life!
